Kitchen Cabinets
White. Satin sheen.
this kitchen set was painted as part of a remodeling effort leading up to a property sale. also getting done at the same time were two bookcases that surrounded a fireplace in an adjacent room.
Before

a cordless drill is the most common tool used to dismount cabinet doors. the tub full of clean linens also visible in this first photo will be used for wrapping them prior to transport.

the doors are now all back at home base and patiently
waiting for the prep process to begin. there were roughly
40 openings of various different types at this location.
During

the process of protecting all of the peripheral areas is well under way.

the adjustable poles and clear masking material are used to create a perimeter barrier on the kitchen. all flooring is covered entirely and secured with tape.

by combining experience with the proper equipment, the creation of overspray
has been kept to a minimum during the finishing process.
After

unique areas like this wine rack still require handwork with the brush and the roller.

untinted white satin was chosen for the finish in this kitchen after
discussing various different options with the owners.

the onsite work relative to the actual cabinet boxes themselves on kitchen projects similar to this one will take approximately one week to complete.

this kitchen's lighting has combined with the satin finish in the product used to create a beautiful soft sheen on the upper doors in this final photo.
Bath Cabinetry
White. Semi-Gloss sheen
the work here involved three very similar bath vanities.
two in the master bath and a single in the smaller bath.
Before

these cabinets had a mild glazing effect on them originally.

a more formal before photo of one of the doors from this bath project.
Masking

the vanity top has been protected with brown paper while the inner cabinet box was done with a clear masking plastic.

the labor involved in preparing cabinets for spraying can be likened to arranging dominoes for toppling. it very often does take quite a while in many cases to properly prep and mask whereas the actual spray work itself only takes seconds or minutes.

Cabinet Top
Green Color Match. Satin Sheen.
at least one unknown item from prior ownership prevented this top from being a uniform finish across it's entire surface when done initially and it's outline is clearly visible in the first photo below. color was matched to the existing green.
Before

in the above photo, the "bare" spot certainly indicates the likely presence of something heavy that the original homeowners decided not to move at the time they or someone they hired painted this long cabinet top. whatever it was and why it was done that way remains a mystery.

the finish material in this case can be seen here next to the cabinet door used to create the color match. more worn areas are also visible.
During

coatings can be applied today at much lower psi levels then has traditionally been possible, which in turn creates far less overspray in occupied homes.

Bath Cabinetry
Stain and Varnish. Satin sheen.
refreshing a decades old look with something a bit more contemporary.
Before

honey oak cabinets and vanities were an absolute smash hit in their heyday. all they required was a clear coat finishing process that cabinet builders were more than happy to mass produce.
During

"stain washing" might be the most appropriate description of the process used to refresh these doors.

the wood grain here has been brought back to life and now shows off a beautiful contrast.

new door handles and drawer pulls added the final touch on this refresh project.
Bath Cabinetry
Semi-Gloss sheen.
these before, during and after photos are from a
master bathroom remodel and show a pasco county cabinet set going from its original appearance over to a different blue. the new color is sw9150 "Endless Sea". the new sheen chosen is semi-gloss. the homeowners have already begun working on some of the changes in the first photo by checking out some new drawer pull options.
Before

This bath was sporting some pretty interesting vintage wallpaper.

After removing the drawers & doors, things already look different.
During
after a decision was made to retain the existing doors & drawer fronts, stripping efforts on the old coating have begun and were all handled by the homeowner who did an excellent job on this aspect. refilling the old drawer pull mounting holes was also required. sanding in this instance was done by both machine and hand.

Bar Cabinets
Semi-gloss sheen.

a couple of before looks at another fireplace wall prior to the remodel efforts beginning.

the drawers and doors here all displayed fairly severe pre-existing drip and brushmark concerns that were cleary not done by a professional finisher.

the material used in the prior instance was also subpar and certainly not meant for serious cabinet work.

getting ready to start on the cabinet box prep after bringing in equipment.

about to spray primer on the cabinet boxes on this small bar set.

this door doesn't resemble it's old self anymore after being done properly.
the bartop it's sitting on was also being finished as part of this project.

all the pieces of the puzzle are slowly starting to come together as
the bartop's back in in place and the box aspect has been painted

three small floating shelves were also finished to match the bartops look

along with the set of bar cabinets and the bartop staining and varnishing work the bricks on the hearth and fireplace were given a custom colored "whitewash".
